Being in the information sector is to live in the technology world that changes with the speed of light. On the other hand, the Technology and Telecom sector has an extremely valuable human resource that is trained by managers who are qualified experts equipped with rich skills. We believe that the 20 years we have spent in this field is valuable at this very point and add value to our environment.

We have gained experience in many different areas such as Technical, Sales, Marketing, Channel / Product / Strategy and Team Management and Senior Management in leading companies of the IT sector.

On top of above we added nearly 10 years of industry experience in the field of human resources plus coaching and received various training and certifications in this field. By sharing our experience with both our clients and candidates, we continue to transform it into value in the sector with our selection and placement and coaching services under our own brand.

A Message From Our Founder

As a professional who has worked in the Information Sector for many years, I am a close witness that the most fundamental problems are around the human resources process. In my opinion, understanding and evaluating both social and technical skills of a candidate, and reaching the correct conclusion about their suitability for the relevant position requires a special competence. In order for the candidate respect and trust to the evaluator, evaluator must know the relevant subject to a sufficient extent to understand the candidate. In addition, the hiring institution usually is concerned about both competence and the ability of the candidate to adapt to the corporate culture and change. Reaching the right human resources and completing the recruitment does not end the process. It is also necessary to work on issues such as improving the competencies and skills of employees who add value to the company, enabling them to move to new areas in the organization, and mentor other employees.

While technology, institutions and competencies are changing rapidly everyday, I find it extremely important that HR consultancy companies work with this agility. It has been my primary goal to be able to present, both my own experience and my teammates’ experience to candidates and institutions as a consultant and business partner they trust. ASTERA was founded with this understanding. Our goal is to be a reliable Business Partner and a consultancy firm that guides the careers of candidates by constantly improving our skills and competencies, supporting organizations in this changing and transforming environment in the entire Human Resources Management Process.

Founder

Ülkü Ceylan graduated from ITU (Istanbul Technical University) in Computer Engineering in 1987 and was awarded her Master’s degree from Bosporus University in 1992. She developed her career in the IT sector while working in IBM Turk Limited Company between 1989 and 2010. Since 2012, she has been providing Recruitment and Management Consultancy services to local and international companies in the IT sector. She has gained extensive knowledge and experience during her 20 year career at IBM as System Engineer, Project Manager, Product Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager, Channel Director and Software Sales Leader. She carried out diverse technical and sales responsibilities, particularly in the areas of Technical Project Management and Technical Team Management. In these posts, she completed successful projects in several sectors such as retail, finance, small and medium businesses. She undertook responsibilities in different areas of IBM offerings, designed solutions, managed large size local and international projects and managed a number of partner networks in different competencies. During more than 20 years of work- experience, she observed that two main issues are prevalent in this sector. One is the need for qualified and skilled human resources, the other is the necessity of keeping up with the rapidly changing technological world, which is possible only if you live inside the IT Industry. With this view she took part in several trainings on Communication & Relations, NLP, Life Coaching and Student Coaching Finally, she directed her career into entrepreneurship to provide career, consultancy and search & selection services in Astera Career and Consultancy Since 2012, She has been helping corporations and individuals through Search & Selection, Coaching and Consultancy services by combining her experience gained in several local and international companies. Her result-oriented ethical approach, open and transparent working style, coaching discipline and advanced relationships developed over years in the industry, is of great value to her co-workers. In 2014, she was awarded the “Job & Career Consultant – Level 6” Certificate from Sakarya University. She is fluent in English and married with two children.
