Our Policy on the Processing of Personal Data
This “Disclosure Statement” is presented by As Astera Human Resources Management and Consultancy Ltd. Co. (Astera), acting as the Data Controller under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), to inform you regarding the purpose of processing your personal data, the recipients and purposes of sharing your processed personal data, the method and legal basis for collecting your personal data, and your other rights. It also seeks to obtain your consent in relation to these matters.
In the context of our commercial relationships or business relations with you as an applicant, in cases where data processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or protection of a right, your personal data will be recorded, stored, maintained, and reorganized for the purpose requiring their processing and in connection with that purpose. This will be done in a limited and proportionate manner, ensuring that the accuracy and up-to-date nature of the personal data you provide or that is provided to us is maintained, without infringing on your fundamental rights and freedoms. Additionally, we notify you that these personal data will be shared with institutions authorized to request such data under the legislation, transferred to third parties within or outside the country, classified, and processed in other ways stipulated by KVKK.
We place great importance on protecting the confidentiality and security of the personal data you provide to us. In this regard, we take all necessary technical and administrative security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, damage, loss, or disclosure.
The information and processing specified in this Disclosure Statement apply to transactions conducted on the Astera website online. Please note that transactions conducted outside of the online platform are beyond Astera’s control.
Purpose of Processing Personal Data
As Astera, acting as the Data Controller, we process personal (special and general) data shared by our applicant candidates for the purpose of matching them with our employer clients, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”) and other relevant legislation. Additionally, to enable all our clients to benefit from our services, should you share your personal data with us, our company will be able to obtain, record, store, update, reorganize, disclose, transfer, share, and process these personal data for the purpose of continuing its services. This will only be done to the extent permitted by the relevant legislation and under the conditions set out in this Disclosure Statement.
These personal data will be processed based on your explicit consent and/or, where necessary, as stipulated under Article 5(2) of the KVKK or similar regulations. The data will be processed within the scope of the purposes outlined in this Disclosure Statement and in compliance with all necessary precautions. They will be retained for the legally required storage period or as long as necessary for the purpose of processing.
Collection and Processing of Personal Data
The personal data of candidates collected and, where necessary, sensitive personal data collected according to the nature of the job will also be processed for the following purposes in addition to those specified in this statement:
- Evaluating the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and interest in the open position;
- Verifying the accuracy of the information provided by the candidate, if necessary, or contacting third parties to conduct background checks on the candidate;
- Communicating with the candidate regarding the application and recruitment process, or contacting the candidate for any future open positions, whether domestic or international;
- Complying with legal obligations or fulfilling the requests of authorized institutions or organizations;
- Improving and developing the recruitment principles applied by our institution.
We must state that if our applicant candidates’ personal data, shared under the conditions described above, are subject to processing by our employer clients, our employer clients will also become data controllers. In case of any requests regarding the data made accessible to the relevant employer through Astera, such requests will be forwarded to the respective employer. Furthermore, for data transferred to our employer clients’ systems, the responsibility for handling such requests will rest with the employer client, acting as the data controller.
Transfer of Personal Data
Our company may share personal data only with third parties inside or outside the country, directly or indirectly, based on the explicit consent of the data owner and/or in cases where it is legally required as per Article 5(2) of the KVKK or similar provisions. Such transfers will occur under the security and confidentiality principles specified by the KVKK and after taking all necessary precautions.
These personal data may be shared with our business partners, clients with whom we have service agreements, and third parties authorized to request such data, including public institutions and organizations, under the legal requirements of our company’s activities.
Method and Legal Basis for Collecting Personal Data
Astera collects general personal data and, where necessary, sensitive personal data from candidate applicants and/or employer clients based on the relevant provisions of the KVKK and related regulations, using the methods specified below.
Methods of Collecting Personal Data:
- Personal data provided directly by the candidate applicant and/or employer client to Astera: All information and documents directly provided by the relevant parties;
- Personal data collected from third parties about the candidate applicant and/or employer client: Information and documents collected from institutions and organizations with which Astera collaborates or from official institutions such as the Turkish Employment Agency;
- Data collected during interviews conducted via video conferencing, phone calls, or in person: In these cases, checks carried out by Astera employees or consultants to verify the accuracy of the information provided during interviews, as well as research conducted by our company;
- Data obtained from recruitment tests that assess candidates’ skills and personality traits and are administered by experienced professionals: Data obtained from these tests;
- Data collected via cookies and similar technologies: Personal data obtained in situations such as website usage;
- Data collected via our company’s and/or our partners’ websites and similar channels: Personal data collected through written, verbal, or electronic means, whether automatically or non-automatically, through the aforementioned applications and websites.

Rights of the Personal Data Owner
Except for the circumstances outlined in Article 28 of the KVKK titled “Exceptions,” under Article 11 of the Law, you have the following rights concerning your personal data:
a) Inquiring whether your personal data is being processed,
b) Requesting information regarding the processing of your personal data,
c) Learning the purpose of processing your personal data and whether it is being used in accordance with that purpose,
d) Knowing the third parties, inside or outside the country, to whom your personal data has been transferred,
e) Requesting the correction of incomplete or incorrect personal data,
f) Requesting the deletion or destruction of your personal data under the conditions set forth in Article 7 of the Law,
g) Requesting notification to third parties, to whom your personal data has been transferred, about any corrections or deletions,
h) Objecting to a negative outcome resulting from the exclusive analysis of your personal data by automated systems,
i) Requesting compensation if you incur damages due to the unlawful processing of your personal data.
It is essential that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and up to date. Therefore, it is important to inform us of any changes to your personal data.
Requests regarding your rights under the law must be submitted in writing in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698. As the personal data owner, I acknowledge, declare, and agree that:
- I have read and understood the “Disclosure Statement” above under the Personal Data Protection Law before conducting any transactions on Astera’s website,
- I have been informed through this form regarding the rights I have under the law and the company’s personal data processing/protection activities,
- I freely and fully consent to the processing of my personal and sensitive personal data and the sharing of such data with the individuals listed above,
- I accept, declare, and agree that my electronically stored data may be held on computers located outside the company and that the systems where this data is stored may be located abroad.
